Open Question: Tips for Table Tennis footwork?

Recently I joined a local table tennis club. I had potential to join a league rated 1000-1700. The guys who run it said that my technical motions on strokes and serves were good but I was lacking footwork. Until I improve my footwork moving skills, I won’t be able to join the league. So the question is… what can I do to improve my footwork, how can I put what I learned into a match, and how can I maintain what I learned? Thanks a bunch

Open Question: Why do I use different hands for different things?

I use different hands for different activities, but my friends eaither left or right use that hand for about 99% of all there activities. These are the hands I use for different things:
Left : Writing
Left: Playing badminton
Left: Eating with fork or spoon
Left: ( South paw ) stance but started orthodox originally because it felt more natural.
Left: Arm wrestling
Left: Left stick playing hockey
Left: baseball stance
Left: high jump
Left: kicking ball
Left: shooting basketball
Left: bowling
Right: Trigger finger when holding a paintball gun
Right: Winking is much easier
Right: Playing table tennis
Right: Brushing hair
Right: Brushing teeth
