Open Question: What are some not-cheesy ideas for Youth Group teens to create a vibe?
Nov/110
I’m taking over a Youth Ministry and the teens are tired of the structure of a cheesy game, ice-breaker, worship, preach!
We want to keep discipling the teens, but need to also be more intentional about the chill time – what are some ideas that aren’t cheesy and corny, cus most stuff i find online are like “three-legged race” and “crab soccer” and stuff with food. Yes, these things can be fun at times, but need something more legit! We have a budget, so if money’s the issue, we can make a plan.
Also, what are some good things to have for 30min wen they arrive? We have a pool table and table tennis table, a few couches and play soccer. PLEASE HELP! ![]()
We live in Cape Town, have about 35 teens at the moment and looking to grow in numbers but more importantly in relationship and maturity as Christians. Our budget is about R1500 a month, and the kids are from a middle-class background, with clubs and parties, drinking, absent parents, quite a selfish “me” culture, and they are High School grades 8-12 (13-18years old).
In terms of spiritual aspects of Youth, we have small groups, worship, go to conferences sometimes, have Encounter nights once a term where we just have worship and prophetic ministry.
Would also appreciate ideas in terms of relevant ways to build them spiritually.
Hope this info helps give context!

Open Question: My father’s birthday is coming up and he seems to really want some new table tennis paddles, how do I know…?
Feb/110
how do I know which one is the best or right one for him? I usually see him looking at this website:
http://www.butterflyonline.com/
ahaha thanks for the tip! hmm, he really isn’t a professional. Just a mid-50 year old Asian man that goes to the Table Tennis Club after dinner to play for hours with his friends. He seems to be pretty serious about it, since that’s all I ever see him look at on his computer?
