Open Question: Have to wear short shorts for a sport, im a guy?

Im a guy who has to wear short shorts…(a little bit above the knee) too play table tennis. My couch says when i play table tennis professionally in tournaments im required to wear short shorts.
Would people think im gay if i wear these shorts… Just for table tennis in public?
